Becoming Arya feat. Cloacina
Inspired by Arya Stark in Braavos, Game of Thrones [Intro – whispered, melancholic, breathy female vocal] I set out to become no one, dreamed of a hundred faces— The servant of the god gave me a murder to prove my worth. I thought I was ready. But when I stood before my mark, I saw the innocent meant to die for the guilty. I turned my blade. For that, the servant stole my sight— so that I’d never again see such foolish things, and learn what it meant to be… no one. [Verse 1 – slow, desperate, raw vocals, sparse instrumentation] Blindness—the world is harsher still. The floor cold beneath my feet, my training now a crueler game. I spin, I stumble, the staff finds my knee again and again. I lash out, always missing, and crawl, whimpering, into dust. [Verse 2 – gradually building, breathy female, layered textures] Weeks slip by. Senses sharpen; a whisper of wind, a shuffled stance, the lift of a staff in endless dark. Survival becomes everything— I only care to remain standing, to dodge, to keep breathing. Yet she jeers—“How will you serve the faceless, if you’re always on the run?” [Pre-Chorus 1 – atmospheric, ethereal, resigned] She throws me to the streets—explains nothing. Now filth and fear are my teachers, my home a broken archway, my food stolen, barely enough. [Chorus 1 – haunting, bold, soaring vocal harmonies] Then—she attacks from shadow, relentless, cruel. I escape, just, but terror sticks; now every step is hunted. Will the next strike be my end? [Instrumental – long hurdy-gurdy solo, dark, atmospheric, layered] [Verse 3 – restless, tense, quickening pace, tense vocal delivery] Bruised, limping, healing never quite, the next attack comes swift— I tumble down stone alleys, drag myself to my hole, panting, desperate, alive. [Pre-Chorus 2 – suspenseful, whispered, nervous energy] She haunts these nights with her staff, yet now I sense her coming; the city’s whispers become my world. [Chorus 2 – intense, defiant, raw and soaring combined] In darkness, she enters—ready to end me. I feel her presence; I unsheathe my blade, slice the candlelight— now the dark is my ally. She falters. I strike. The fight is over fast. [Outro – reflective, soft, breathy, gradually brightening] Victory stings sweet—my master’s strength flows through my veins. When I’ve washed her blood from my hands, caught my next meal, and learned to walk upright— then I will reclaim what was mine. My first true smile since I tried to become no one— I will always be Arya Stark.
