O Lord, my refuge, when I cry you’re near, You’re the shield that stands between me and my fear. In the clash of wrong and right I cried for you to hear, Lift me up on wings of mercy, hold me in your care. Chorus I’ve trusted in your justice, you’ll set me free tonight, Down through the valley of shadows into your steady light. You’re my only sure foundation, when all else fades away, So I’ll sing your name, my shelter strong, my hope in darkest day. Verse 2 See the sinners rise around me, casting stones in cruel delight, But you’re the judge of every heart, you bring the hidden into light. Let their minds be turned upon their ways, for you make sorrow known, But for the one who trusts your path, you’ll build a righteous home. Bridge Let the earth shake at your anger, let the mountains bow in your might, You who tread the seas like rivers, you’ll defend the innocent tonight. And I’ll rest in your salvation, wrap me in your truth, ‘Cause you’re the only one I answer to, you’re the fountain I’ll return to. Final Chorus Yes I’ve trusted in your justice, you’ll set me free tonight, Through the storms and through the long dark, into your steady light. You’re my only sure foundation, when all else turns astray, So I’ll raise my voice and lift my hands, my fortress come what may. [Interlude | drums and choir adlib] Final Chorus Yes I’ve trusted in your justice, you’ll set me free tonight, Through the storms and through the long dark, into your steady light. You’re my only sure foundation, when all else turns astray, So I’ll raise my voice and lift my hands, my fortress come what may.
