Sun coming up over another long week, Coffee in my hand while the whole house sleeps, Mind already running before my feet hit ground, Thinking ‘bout the pressure while the world stays quiet now. One minute I’m a dad making school-run songs, Next minute solving facade details all day long, Trying to balance dreams with the bills and stress, Still showing up strong even feeling less than my best. Tyden laughing loud in the backseat haze, Aleera drawing worlds in a hundred different ways, Lisa holding steady through the highs and lows, The kind of love that only real life knows. I’ve stood on towers with the wind in my face, Chasing leaks through buildings while I’m chasing my place, Trying to build something more than a name, Something my kids look back on proud one day. And some nights I still sit there thinking deep, Wondering what’s real underneath all the concrete, Questions in my head that I can’t switch off, Trying to understand why life gets hard. But I keep moving, still chasing light, Through long work days and those restless nights, Half philosopher, half builder by trade, Trying to leave meaning in the path I pave. I’ve got songs in the car and plans in my brain, Boys weekends laughing through the sunshine pain, Fishing trips dreaming of barra at dawn, Still feeling twenty though the body says “nah.” One day it’s hip-hop, next day rain, Next day camping trying to slow the pace, Trying to stay present while the years move fast, Knowing these small moments never really last. I’ve seen ambition turn people cold, Seen money make chains dressed up like gold, So I hold my family tighter these days, Trying to measure life in better ways. Not just success or the size of a house, More the voices laughing loud around the couch, More the memories built in ordinary time, More the feeling when everybody’s alright. And I know I’m flawed, yeah I know that well, Carry too much weight and keep too much myself, But everything I do comes back to love, Trying to give my people more than enough. So if I’m building something let it stand true, Not just glass and steel but the people I move, Because one day the noise and the pressure fade, But family and meaning are the things that stay. Still learning, still growing, still finding my lane, Still carrying questions inside my brain, Still that same kid with ideas too big, Just older now with more to give. And through every hard day, every climb, every scar, I realise how lucky I already are, Because the life I’ve been chasing was here the whole time, In the people beside me through this whole damn ride.
