Lyrics & Story by Todd Russell The story of twin Thorns born to earth Brothers competing in sports and life Steve the gifted athlete and scholar Tim socially awkward and plagued with strife From high school, college, the pros Brothers competing on the football field One day the devil came to make Tim a deal Sports success, Tim must drop his soul shield One hundred years All the great plays All the great ways The power, the victory Wash away your fears To live one hundred years One hundred years Tim's play improved as promised Family, friends built the shrine Life outside football went wrong Steve saw his brother's mental decline Tim Thorn, master on the field Pained jester beyond the game Patterns of disturbing visions through time Driving Tim slowly, inexorably insane One hundred years All the great plays All the great ways The power, the victory Wash away your fears To live one hundred years One hundred years Moral of the story Stardom and success sacrifice Don't make deals with the dark One hundred years All the great plays All the great ways The power, the victory Wash away fears To live one hundred years One hundred years One hundred years One hundred years No going back now One hundred years One hundred years No One hundred years One hundred years The Thorn on the rose
