UNWICHTIG - Wheel of Fate - Last Ninja Tribute

V5

The mist is thick on Lin Fen’s shore, I hear the ghosts of the clan no more. The Shogun’s blade left a trail of red, Now I walk the path of the lonely dead. Through bamboo groves where the shadows creep, I keep the vows that the silent keep. With a katana forged in a dying flame, I’ll carve my way to the monster’s name. But every strike and every kill, Just leaves a void I cannot fill. It’s the wheel of fate, it’s the endless spin, Where do I end and the nightmare begin? I’m the Last Ninja, the ghost in the rain, Trading my soul for a moment of pain. For the light and the dark are a twin-edged blade, And the debt of the gods can never be paid! The sky was torn by a mystic light, I woke up screaming in a neon night. No mountain air, just the stench of oil, In a labyrinth of glass on a foreign soil. The Central Park is a haunted maze, Through the subway tunnels in a violet haze. Kunitoki hides in a tower of steel, While the city turns like a grinding wheel. From the skyscraper heights to the gutter below, The blood of my enemies starts to flow. But the lights of New York never sleep or pray, And the darkness just finds a different way. Earth and Water, Fire and Air, I mastered them all, but I’m still in despair. Tibet’s frozen peaks or the city of stone, A king of the shadows, but forever alone! The third gate opens in the temple of ice, I’ve paid the blood, I’ve paid the price. I’ve climbed the poles and I’ve crossed the pits, While the demon of malice just smiles and sits. For every Shogun that I cast to the floor, A thousand more are knocking at the door. The world is a cycle of greed and of hate, And a ninja’s blade cannot alter that fate. I’m tired of the dance, I’m tired of the war, I don’t want to be the hero anymore. One more strike, one more breath, In a life that’s a shadow of living death. The mask is my face, the steel is my hand, The last of my kind in a broken land. Song Text ©: Thorsten Försterling
