Temple of the Living God

V5

Temple of the Living God” (Song Lyrics / Spoken-Word Meditation) (Soft piano and ambient hum. A voice begins—slow, reverent, timeless.) Who am I? What am I? Where am I? (Pause. Violin breathes in.) I look down at my feet — are these I, or are they mine? Am I in the feet, or do I simply move through them? I rise to the knees, the chest, the face — am I within these parts, or do they belong to me? If they are hurt, am I hurt? Or is it the body that suffers while I remain unchanged? (Piano deepens, heartbeat rhythm begins.) There is an I that stands apart, yet moves through all things. A silent awareness wearing this form as a robe, as a temple. This body — it is mine, but it is not me. It is the sacred instrument through which I move, the temple through which the Infinite breathes. (Soft voice, female) My hands — they do not give or withhold. It is I who gives through them, I who blesses through them. (Male echo) My heart does not grant me life. Life itself moves the heart. The pulse belongs not to flesh, but to Spirit — to the Eternal I. (Both voices together, soft and powerful) My eyes do not see — I see through them. My ears do not hear — I hear through them. My body does not act — I act through it. (Violin swell. Spoken softly, like revelation.) I am being. My being is not dependent upon this body — this body is dependent upon my being. (Long pause, gentle piano arpeggio.) The I that I am governs the body. The body has no will, no thought, no power of its own. It mirrors the Infinite within me. (Rising, sacred tone) My body is the image and likeness of I. The manifestation of the invisible made seen. There is a Spirit within me — the breath of the Almighty gives me life. (Violin and drum rise softly, heartbeat rhythm) The activity of God in me governs every cell, every organ, every motion. An invisible Spirit sustains me unto eternity. Nothing from without can defile or make untrue this temple of the Living God. (Softly, chant-like echo) Whatever is of God — God maintains. Whatever is mortal — shall pass. But the truth of my being lives forever. (Male and female voices together — final refrain) For my body is the Temple of the Living God. My body is the Temple of the Living God. (Silence. Then one breath — “I Am.”)
