Mrs. Doyle, My Favorite Teacher

[Verse 1] Walk in the room Big smile Monday Coffee cup Name tag You say “We’ll be okay” Math on the board Jokes in the margin You turn the hard stuff Into something we can start in [Chorus] Mrs. Doyle You’re my favorite teacher You make fifth grade feel like home You cheer me on when I get scared So I know I’m not alone Mrs. Doyle You’re my favorite teacher From every book to every game You see my heart You say my name (Yeah) you’re my favorite Favorite teacher [Verse 2] You read out loud We’re lost in stories Dragons and spaceships All our small worries Fade for a while When you start laughing Somehow you turn A bad day into clapping [Chorus] Mrs. Doyle You’re my favorite teacher You make fifth grade feel like home You cheer me on when I get scared So I know I’m not alone Mrs. Doyle You’re my favorite teacher From every book to every game You see my heart You say my name (Yeah) you’re my favorite Favorite teacher [Bridge] Someday I’ll move on to bigger halls Posters down from these classroom walls But I’ll still hear your voice inside “Take your time You’ll be alright” (alright) [Chorus] Mrs. Doyle You’re my favorite teacher You make fifth grade feel like home You cheer me on when I get scared So I know I’m not alone Mrs. Doyle You’re my favorite teacher I’ll carry all the things you taught Right in my hands Right in my thoughts You’re my favorite Favorite teacher (hey!)
