Embers
By brutus [Catchy Instrumental solo] [verse] Beware, beware the embers' glow As they fade in the night so slow Their dying light, a final plea To tales of warmth and memory [verse 2] Once blazing bright, now barely seen A dance of orange, red, and green The fire's child, reduced to ash Its story told in one last flash [verse 3] Oh why, oh embers, do you fade? Have you forgotten how you played? The hope and comfort that you brought The battles 'gainst the cold you fought [verse 4] The hearth grows cold, the shadows creep As embers fall into their sleep What do they seek in their last breath? A chance to cheat impending death [verse 5] But on the edge of dark and light They find no rescue from their plight Alone they face the coming chill Their warmth and power all but nil [verse 6] In final moments, hear them cry: Beware, beware, we soon shall die Remember us, our fading gleam Remember us, your last dream

finally getting around to listening to other people's music this gives me an old folk vibe mixed with some really nice story telling. Really nailed the emotional parts.
