RADIO APOCALYPSE STAY TUNED **HAND ON THE DIAL** *[spoken through an old radio]* Your attention is the tuner… Where you put it— there you are. **Verse 1** Woke up early, turned on the noise, Everybody shouting, everybody's choice, Fear on the left, doom on the right, Somebody selling me a terrible night. Then I heard a little click in my head, Lucid leaned over and quietly said: **CHORUS** Click-click—turn that dial, Stay right here for a little while, Static comes, static goes, Where attention lands, the signal grows. **Tune it high, tune it low, Attention tells the energy where to go. I don't have to fight what's coming through— I've got my hand on the dial, and I choose what I tune.** **Verse 2** Fear FM said, “Stay with me!” Should-Have Radio charged a fee, Everybody's-An-Idiot AM Was broadcasting trouble at six A.M. I didn't smash the radio down, Didn't chase that signal out of town, I just laughed when I understood: **I can change the station whenever I choose.** **CHORUS** Click-click—turn that dial, Stay right here for a little while, Static comes, static goes, Where attention lands, the signal grows. **Bridge — call and response** What station? **THIS ONE!** Whose tuner? **MY ONE!** Lost the signal? **FIND IT AGAIN!** Static? **LET IT PASS, MY FRIEND!** Beauty in the window— **TUNE IT!** Music in your body— **TUNE IT!** Something makes you curious— **TUNE IT!** Something makes you laugh— **TURN THAT SUCKER UP!** *[instrumental break: bass clarinet answers a theremin while toy piano goes slightly berserk]* **Final Chorus** Click-click—turn that dial, You don't have to hold it all the while, Lose the wave, catch it again, Nobody failed and nothing has to end. Feel what you feel, know what you know, Attention tells the energy where to go. You don't have to fight what's coming through— **I've got my hand on the dial. I've got my hand on the dial. I've got my hand on the dial…** **and I choose what I tune.** *[radio static dissolves into voices]* Catch the wave… Catch the wave… **Stay tuned. BOOM CATCHA BOOM CATCHA BOOM BOOM BOOM!
