What good is an extensive education That swells up the head of a man, Leaving them with loads of information, Which is gone in his own lifespan. He may pass it on to a few others, He may even grow wealthy and fat. But how much will prove to be worthless? Of course he might not think of that. His mind is bogged with pictures and columns, And many may figure him smart. But when it comes to true contemplation, How much has it strengthened his heart? How much has he grown in kindness? How much has he blosomed in love? Has his life prepared him for heaven? Is he prepared for a grand work above? Or can it prove to be meaningless, And not worth the time that it took? Did it turn him into a smart and bright egoist? Did he end up like a fish on a hook? Now, if a man fills his mind with the wisdom That comes from his Maker above, And learns to use all of his powers To share his whole life in sweet love. The kind of love meant to bless others, And give them whatever they need, His knowledge will take on true meaning. His life will harvest plenty of seed. Education can be a real blessing, But it also may be a blight. So make sure it is based on God's principles, And your future will always be bright.
