[Intro — distant piano, glass shimmer] I thought the dark was something closing in But maybe... it was waiting to open. [Verse 1] Soft light moving underneath the blue Shapes in the distance slowly coming through I held the silence like it knew my name Stayed there long enough to watch it change [Build] Maybe the night isn't where light ends Maybe it's where the colour begins [RELEASE 1] When the darkness opens I see I see Something beautiful waiting for me When the darkness opens I breathe I breathe And all that I carried starts leaving me [Short luminous instrumental] [Verse 2] Every shadow changes with the light Every lost road looks different at night Maybe I needed the dark for a while To notice the glow when it finally arrived [Build — arpeggio rises] Not everything hidden is something to fear Some things grow brighter the closer we get near [FINAL RELEASE] When the darkness opens I see I see Something beautiful waiting for me When the darkness opens I breathe I breathe The whole world gets wider inside of me [Strings widen] Dark into colour Night into gold Maybe the light was here all along [Drums cut] [Fragile vocal] I just had to let it in. [HARD STOP]
