“THE TEARS I BLEED” * A song for the ones who learned to cry in silence.* Verse 1 — The Tears That Never Fall I learned to cry without a single tear, To swallow every scream and hide behind my fear. Somewhere along the way, my eyes forgot to rain, So I taught my skin to speak the language of my pain. When words couldn't explain what my soul was going through, I turned my hurt against myself, not knowing what else to do. They saw a pretty face, a smile that seemed complete, But never saw the broken girl collapsing underneath. Verse 2 — My Body Isn't All I Am I'm tired of being beautiful, a body on display, Of people loving what they see, then looking the other way. I'm more than lips and curves and eyes that catch the light, I'm a universe of thoughts that keeps on burning through the night. I've got a brilliant mind with wisdom left to share, But they admire the outside like there's nothing living there. If beauty is the only thing that makes them want to stay, Then who will love the woman when the beauty fades away? Verse 3 — The Humor Nobody Knows I've got a kind of humor that's a rare and precious find, A thousand clever comebacks and a quick, inventive mind. I can make a room erupt with laughter, chase the clouds away, While fighting private battles that I never dare to say. But nobody knows the little things that make me smile, Or how a simple kindness could make my suffering worthwhile. They love the funny girl, but never think to ask How much it costs to make them laugh while hiding behind a mask. Verse 4 — The Sleeves That Tell No Tale They never see the blood that seeps beneath my shirt, Or recognize the quiet signs of someone deeply hurt. I pull my sleeves down lower, make sure the stains don't show, And pray that no one asks me what I cannot let them know. I dress my wounds in silence, put my pretty face in place, Then walk into the world again with dignity and grace. But every hidden injury is a message left unread, A cry for help from someone who's exhausted in their head. Verse 5 — A Prison Made of Skin Sometimes I feel imprisoned in a body I call mine, With feelings overflowing and no safe place to unwind. They tell me, "Just be grateful," like that makes the hurting cease, As though a heart can bargain with its suffering for peace. I'm tired of being strong because they never let me fall, Of being everybody's shelter while I'm crumbling through it all. Who holds the hands of healers when they cannot heal their own? Who hears the loudest silence when they're suffering alone? Verse 6 — The Knowledge I Still Carry There's so much left inside me that the world has never heard, Whole galaxies of wisdom trapped behind an unsaid word. I've studied human nature through the battles I survived, I've learned a thousand lessons just from fighting to stay alive. I've got stories that could save a soul who's standing where I stand, And truths that could put hope and healing back in someone's hands. But how can I teach another what it means to break free, If nobody looks beyond the skin to recognize the real me? Verse 7 — Please See Me Before I'm Gone I'm frightened that I'll leave here with my gifts still locked away, With all the things I could have taught the world still left to say. What if all my greatest lessons never make it past my chest? What if they remember how I looked, but never knew the rest? I don't need another compliment to tell me I look fine, I need somebody curious about this complicated mind. Please ask me what I'm dreaming of, what keeps me up at night, And stay long enough to see beyond the surface and the light. Verse 8 — If My Skin Could Speak If my skin could speak, it'd tell you I am tired, That I'm a house of memories where every room's on fire. It'd tell you I need tenderness, not judgment or disguise, A place where I can tell the truth without defending why I cry. I need a world that understands that pain wears many faces, That healing isn't weakness and that love requires safe spaces. I want to trade these hidden wounds for words that help me heal, To learn that I deserve a life where I can safely feel. Verse 9 — Before the Tears Run Dry So if you hear this song tonight, please listen past the rhyme, Some hearts are fighting battles while they're running out of time. There's more to me than what you see, more than the scars I hide, A mind that still has dreams to teach, a universe inside. I want to share my laughter, all the wisdom I have known, To find a place where I can be a person of my own. I'm not just blood beneath a sleeve, not just a face you see— I'm someone worth protecting, and I deserve to still be me.
