[female rocker airy] Turn up the fire My faith is getting kind of weak Turn it up higher I want another testimony Turn up the mic volume You say that of my God I shouldn’t preach But that’s when I should push the hardest What seems like an obstacle will only help me [pause for effect] [male rap] When we are persecuted we are blessed Because ours is the kingdom of heaven When others falsely accuse us of evil Because of Jesus Consider it money in the bank That only means more rewards And Maybe I’m getting kind of greedy Not for things of this world but for rewards in the afterlife, G O D has a bank and in it I want to place things That don’t decay My bank on earth is subject to thieves breaking into and stealing And possessions are subject to moths and rust destroying But treasures in heaven are beyond the reach of robbery And are in an environment that doesn’t cause degrading And I’ll be honest that I still instill values and energy in things that are temporary Things that won’t follow me after I leave my body When my soul is no longer attached But flies like flames from a match Ignited when my last breath is struck Being afraid of sharing the gospel Is like being afraid of stepping up to bat Sure It may result in battery if the pitch hits you But the team won’t win unless we try And we have a great cloud of witnesses in the stands Cheering us on and recharging our batteries Their examples provide fuel to the fire Being afraid of stepping out of a comfort zone Is like being afraid to try something new To put on our shoes and open the door To explore a route we haven’t ran before Or order something new from a menu To taste something different To venture into a new setting Which may involve flipping a coin And sometimes may result in good results And other times may seem like a loss But in the case of serving Jesus Even if we are persecuted by others Each side of the coin flip is a win We are blessed either way But if we don’t step out Then it’s like the blessing is restrained Sometimes we don’t have because we don’t ask And we don’t find because we don’t seek opportunities may continue to be lost If we don’t put on our shoes and open the door Explore the frontier of what may be unknown But beyond that barrier is the absence of fear And a new testimony A breakthrough A story of redemption Love in action May meet us there It may join us in our midst And stay with us to the next frontier to help us not forget And the next time we enter that area of unknown We will feel more in the zone More comfortable being uncomfortable We are seeing past the temporary And towards a long lasting One might even say timeless Eternal goal Eventually the clock on a wall will outlast me Especially if they insert more energy efficient batteries Or plug it into a source that is converted to a energy grid Or better yet Something that will last more than ten of me, best Bet a sun dial, even though it is only accurate to a few degrees It uses a source that will outlast everyone here that has more power than what I can try to be With the creator of the Sun I gain strength to the point of regaining my faith And now the Sun dial is pointing to a line A degree that reminds me of the thought of where I am I’m here next up be behind to a plate And opportunities are flying by me everyday I miss many But what counts is that I don’t give up And I try my best And swing when I think it makes sense When the ball and the bat connects It isn’t by happen stance that the ball travels fast And years ago I’ve hit home runs I’ve hit R B I’s Seen others come to Christ Shared my faith Made the most of every opportunity Stepped out in ways That made me uncomfortable Multiple times a week But now time has passed And I admit I’ve been out of practice I’ve become rusty My muscles are atrophying But I’m sitting in the dug out And I’m talking with the head coach To please put me back in the game Ready or not here I come God please set it up Align the conversations to fall into place And the way to love others Opportunities by your grace I’m done with giving up I’m done with sitting on the bench Now it’s my turn God Turn up the fire If that is what it takes to invigorate me Then I hope you will join me Will you be the forth man in the fire Even if it’s the ninth inning? I don’t want to wait for happen stance I won’t budge from my battle stance it’s getting kind of cold here without some push back So if others don’t turn up the fire Then I will ask God to turn it up I work best under pressure A little discomfort Strain in the muscles Sweat on the brow It’s game time now Turn it up Turn it up [guitar solo, ultra] [female rocker airy] Turn up the fire My faith is getting kind of weak Turn it up higher I want another testimony Turn up the mic volume You say that of my God I shouldn’t preach But that’s when I should push the hardest Turn up the fire Turn it up higher Turn up the fire Turn up the fire Turn up the fire
