[Verse 1] We make our music with a smile Let the rhythm lead a while Bass starts talking, drums reply Guitar gets funky, don’t ask why No one’s standing above the rest Every crazy idea gets put to test We talk it over, then count to four And suddenly the groove is on the floor [Pre-Chorus] A little bit of this A little bit of that Someone wants it funky Someone wants it fat We may disagree But that’s all right By the end of evening We get it tight [Chorus] Funny Funk, move your feet Funny Funk, feel that beat We play with heart We play for you And every note we play Is something true Funny Funk, everybody gets a say Then we lock that groove and play our way Nothing left to chance when music starts We give you rhythm from our hearts [Verse 2] The drummer says, “Faster!” The bass says, “Wait!” The guitar player’s running Fashionably late The keyboard wants another chord The horns say, “Come on, we’re getting bored!” But when we finally hit that sound There ain’t a single chair left on the ground [Pre-Chorus] We vote on the tempo We vote on the key That’s musical democracy Everybody talks Everybody’s heard Then the bass comes in And gets the final word [Chorus] Funny Funk, move your feet Funny Funk, feel that beat We play with heart We play for you And every note we play Is something true Funny Funk, everybody gets a say Then we lock that groove and play our way Nothing left to chance when music starts We give you rhythm from our hearts [Funk Breakdown] Bass — give me one! Drums — give me two! Guitar, scratch it up You know what to do! Keys — make it sweet! Horns — make it loud! Put it all together And move that crowd! [Bridge] We don't need to be the same Different minds can share the game Listen, laugh and compromise That’s where something funky comes alive We work hard behind the scenes Chasing down our musical dreams And if our song can make you smile Then every single note was worthwhile [Final Chorus] Funny Funk, move your feet Funny Funk, now you know our beat We play with joy We play it true And everything we make We make for you Funny Funk, let the good times roll A little bit of rhythm for your soul Nothing left to chance — we’ve done our part Now take this funky feeling to your heart [Outro] Funny… Funny… Funk! Keep it moving! Funny… Funny… Funk! Keep on grooving! One band! One groove! Many opinions! Funny Funk!
