[Intro] [Instrumental — Native American flute, slow and ceremonial] [Verse 1] I've studied the game since I was four years old I know every play, every formation, every role Coach said we vote on who plays where today I said coach — with respect — that's not the way Someone has to see the bigger picture here Someone has to cut through all the doubt and fear I looked around the room and it was clear to me That someone — is obviously — me [Pre-Chorus] I'm not doing this for myself, you understand I'm doing this because someone has to take a stand [Chorus] This is not a democracy This is not a vote Some decisions need a captain Not a show of hands This is not a democracy This is vision, this is truth And I think deep down you know it — I know what's best for you [Verse 2] The living room was beige when I moved in last year I said no — this space needs direction, needs to be clear I picked the furniture, I chose the art, the rug My partner had some thoughts — I gave them both a hug The holidays, the budget, where we spend the night I've taken all of that — to make sure we get it right They say I never listen but that isn't true I listen — then I do what I was going to do [Pre-Chorus] I'm not doing this for myself, you understand I'm doing this because someone has to take a stand [Chorus] This is not a democracy This is not a vote Some decisions need a captain Not a show of hands This is not a democracy This is vision, this is truth And I think deep down you know it — I know what's best for you [Bridge] [Flute drops to silence — single voice, almost reflective] People ask me sometimes Don't you ever want to share the load? And I think about it I really do But then I think — No Someone has to carry this And I've always been the one [Instrumental break — flute returns, slow and solemn] [Verse 3] Last Tuesday at the family dinner I proposed A five year plan for how our free time should be composed I handed out the schedules, I'd laminated them My sister raised her hand — I said we'll talk after then The team lost three in a row since I took charge Some say my tactics are a little — large I said listen — winning isn't everything But when we win — and we will — you'll thank me for this thing [Final Chorus] This is not a democracy This is not a vote Some decisions need a captain Not a show of hands This is not a democracy This is vision, this is truth And I think deep down you know it — I know what's best for you I know what's best for you I know what's best [Outro] [Flute fades, slow and ceremonial] I've been thinking about the kitchen The tiles could be better I have some ideas Nobody asked But they will thank me This is not a democracy [Flute note fades to silence] ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A Native American flute-driven portrait of a narcissist with zero self-awareness — sung entirely from their own perspective, with complete conviction. They run the family holidays, the living room decor, the team's tactical formation, and the five-year plan for everyone's free time. "This is not a democracy" is their mantra, delivered with the solemn gravity of someone who genuinely believes they are doing everyone a favour. The ceremonial weight of the flute perfectly mirrors the narrator's self-image as a natural-born leader and visionary. Darkly comic, uncomfortably recognisable. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Bingo Board — 2026 [A1] GoGo × Shame [B1] Klezmer × Thirst [C1] Mongolian Throat Singing × Entropy [D1] Instrumental Only × Aerobics [E1] Native American Flute × Democracy [F1] Hopera × Mushroom / Fungi [A2] Rap × Nature [B2] Delta Blues × Dark Ages [C2] Grand Country × Uplifting [D2] Motown × Awakening [E2] Surf Rock × Surrealism [F2] Accordion × Train Hopping [A3] Chap Hop × Muscle Flex [B3] Witch House × Shed Your Burden [C3] Ska × Conflict [D3] Cyberpunk × Transmittable [E3] Groove Metal × Gnomes [F3] Wonky × Ice Cream [A4] Yacht Rock × Love [B4] Screamo × Bubblegum [C4] Fado Phonk × Africa Language [D4] Electronic Dance × 42 [E4] R&B Funk × Banana Split [F4] Skweee × Dating [A5] Lo-fi Indie Pop × Cheating Death [B5] Krautgaze Drone Rock × Heartbreak [C5] Balkan Folk × Transformation [D5] NeoFolk × Hardship [E5] Classical Music × Bird [F5] Alternative Rock × Courage [A6] Harpsichord Symphonic Metal × Faith [B6] Vocal Only / Acapella × Hope [C6] Ballad × Seduction [D6] Psychedelic Newgrass × Philosophy [E6] Yodeling × High Fantasy [F6] Punkrock × Awkward Fathers ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ © 2026 Ande Records Lyrics by Ande All rights reserved. https://ande-records.se/
