You Will Do What Is Right

[Verse 1] When the questions rise like dust on a country road And the weight of another heart is hard to hold I remember Abraham lifting his voice above Trusting the Judge whose wisdom is joined with love You see the hidden places no human eye can see The reasons and the wounds beneath what people speak Your patience is not weakness, Your mercy is not blind You measure every heart with justice perfectly kind [Pre-Chorus] So I will lay my anxious thoughts down I don’t have to carry what You know [Chorus] You will do what is right You will do what is right When I cannot see the whole road You already know the heart inside Your justice and mercy walk side by side So I will trust Your judgment tonight You will do what is right [Verse 2] You trained Your Son to judge with a discerning eye Not by the outward face or the words we hide behind The King who knows the heart, yet reaches out to heal Will never bend the truth, and never lose compassion’s feel Your thoughts are higher than the thoughts that trouble me Your ways reach farther than the things I think I see I’m not the judge of anyone; that place belongs to You And in the hands of perfect love, the verdict will be true [Pre-Chorus] So I will lay my anxious thoughts down I don’t have to carry what You know [Chorus] You will do what is right You will do what is right When I cannot see the whole road You already know the heart inside Your justice and mercy walk side by side So I will trust Your judgment tonight You will do what is right [Male Guest Verse] I’ve seen my own conclusions change with time A single page can never tell the whole design So I release the names I thought I understood To the One who sees completely and decides for good [Male Guest Pre-Chorus] No fear can make Your wisdom turn No pride can make Your mercy burn [Duet Chorus] You will do what is right You will do what is right When we cannot see the whole road You already know the heart inside Your justice and mercy walk side by side So we will trust Your judgment with our lives You will do what is right [Bridge] Jehovah, steady our faith When answers wait, You remain Jesus, King of mercy and truth Teach us to leave judgment with You [Final Chorus] You will do what is right You will do what is right Every hidden tear is known Every honest prayer reaches Your throne Your justice and mercy make a way through the night With complete confidence, we rest in Your sight You will do what is right You will do what is right [Outro] I will trust Your heart I will trust Your ways You will do what is right All my days
