Interlude : What She Remembers
[Sung – Emma] She said the door was open now. But none of us had moved. She hummed a lullaby I’d never sung— In a language I’ve only dreamed. We brought her to a voice of reason— A woman who read children like constellations. [Spoken – Pediatrician] "She’s not broken. She remembers. Children don’t invent… they echo." [Emma, over soft music] And when I asked her, “Who taught you that tune?” She whispered: “Someone who left too soon.”
