Rise Up, O God Verse 1 Rise up, O God, let darkness flee, Scatter the armies that war against Thee, Like smoke before the driving wind, The proud will fade, the saints will sing. But the righteous lift their voice in praise, Dancing with joy at Your holy Name, From desert roads to mountain streams, The King of Glory rides unseen. Chorus Sing to the Lord who rides the skies, Ancient of Days, enthroned on high, Father of mercy, Defender of weak, You hear every cry the broken speak. O God of thunder, O God who saves, You lead Your people through crashing waves, Blessed be the Lord forevermore, Our shield, our song, our conquering Lord. Verse 2 You place the lonely in a home, You break the chains and lead them on, The prisoners walk in morning light, The wilderness blooms before Your sight. The earth itself begins to shake, The mountains bow beneath Your gaze, Sinai trembled, heavens poured rain, Still Your covenant remains. Pre-Chorus Chariots of fire surround Your throne, Thousands upon thousands praise alone, Holy is the One who reigns, Forever crowned above all names. Bridge Daily You carry us in grace, Bearing the weight we could not raise, Death has no claim, the grave no sting, For life belongs to Christ our King. From Bashan’s heights to Zion’s hill, Your presence moves among us still, Let every kingdom, every shore, Bow before the Lord of Lords. Final Chorus Rise up, O God, let nations sing, Lift up the banner of Heaven’s King, Through storm and battle Your people stand, Held by the strength of Your mighty hand. Outro Selah in the valley low, Fire in the hearts below, The King ascends, the heavens roar— Blessed be the Lord forevermore.
