Blue Hour

The town is still in a deep, slow sleep Under skies with a twilight sweep Carrying only hope and fear I take a step, I won’t look near Streetlights glow with a quiet flame Shadows follow but never say my name My footsteps echo, sharp and clear This is the place where it all begins ⸻ My heartbeat starts to race It beats with dawn’s own pace I’ve been chasing what’s behind The pure and hidden side ⸻ The platform waits in a breathless hush A whistle cries with a distant rush My breath turns white, it twists and sways The sky ignites with burning rays The moon and sun still share the sky A cold wind strikes as I pass by There are no tracks beyond this line My heart alone will be the sign My heartbeat starts to race It beats with dawn’s own pace I’ve been chasing what’s behind The pure and hidden side ⸻ My heartbeat starts to fly The rising sun lights up the sky The night is gone, the dream has passed From this place, I walk at last Today begins ⸻ I leave this town before the day Leave yesterday and walk away I won’t look back, I won’t give in The tracks all end where I begin ⸻ My heartbeat starts to race It beats with dawn’s own pace I’ve been chasing what’s behind The pure and hidden side ⸻ My heartbeat starts to fly The rising sun lights up the sky The night is gone, the dream has passed From this place, I walk at last ⸻ Step by step, yesterday fades Morning comes — I move ahead
