[Verse 1] Scott rolls up when the morning's still cool Blue cap low and a pole by the pool He checks the filter, gives the skimmer a sweep Finds one toy boat and a frog fast asleep [Pre-Chorus] He says, “Good news, folks, it’s not a big deal” Then pulls out a leaf the size of a wheel [Chorus] Scott the pool-cleanin’ man, making blue look grand Brush in his hand, got a tidy little plan From the deep-end corner to the ladder’s last rung Scott leaves the water so clear you can see your own tongue Hey, Scott! Keep that water sparkling clean Best pool-side helper that you’ve ever seen [Verse 2] Mrs. Doyle waves from her garden chair “Scott, there’s a palm frond doing laps over there!” He nets it out with a champion’s grin And rescues a noodle somebody left in [Pre-Chorus] He tests the water, gives the pump a kind tap Then signs the clipboard right over his cap [Chorus] Scott the pool-cleanin’ man, making blue look grand Brush in his hand, got a tidy little plan From the deep-end corner to the ladder’s last rung Scott leaves the water so clear you can see your own tongue Hey, Scott! Keep that water sparkling clean Best pool-side helper that you’ve ever seen [Bridge] If a leaf makes a break for the drain If the filter starts coughing again When the summer sun’s high and the towels are all spread Scott’s got the right tool and a joke in his head [Final Chorus] Scott the pool-cleanin’ man, making blue look grand Brush in his hand, got a tidy little plan From the deep-end corner to the ladder’s last rung Scott leaves the water so clear you can see your own tongue Hey, Scott! Keep that water sparkling clean Raise a splash for the king of the chlorine routine! [Outro] One last sweep, then he’s off down the lane See you next week, Scott—bring sunshine again
