(Verse 1 - Week 1: Individual Identity & God's Intimate Knowledge) Psalm 139 whispered secrets in the dark of the womb, Before a human voice could cage me or seal up my tomb. Knitted together in the secret place, fearfully and wonderfully made, An imprint of the Image (Genesis 1:27) before the foundations were laid. Jeremiah knew the calling before the breath hit the clay, A distinct personhood designed to never fade away. You looked at my soul like raw stone to chisel and shave, Trying to carve out the personality that God uniquely gave. (Chorus) And the house is breaking down on the altar of control, Two distinct creations tearing up the fabric of the whole. It's a crushing, heavy grief when you want me someone else, Forgetting that my personhood belongs to God Himself. We were meant to be a temple, not a prison for your mold, Now the "one flesh" story is a tragedy we hold. (Verse 2 - Week 2: The Meaning of "One Flesh" in Partnership) Genesis 2:24 said two would leave and cleave, Ecclesiastes promised warmth when the cold nights deceive. Two distinct pillars holding up the weight of the roof, Not one trying to swallow up the other for proof. Two are better than one if they multiply strength, Not stretching individual personality to breaking length. You wanted an erasure, a subtraction of my frame, Trying to rewrite the spark that carried Heaven's name. (Bridge - Week 3: Individual Accountability & Talents) Romans 14:12 reminds me who I answer to at last, Not your endless expectations, nor the shadows of the past. First Corinthians 12:4—the Spirit distributes the grace, Gifts and talents assigned to my specific face. You tried to be the Holy Spirit, tried to shift my design, Taking over the sanctification that was never yours to line. Only God can change a heart; only He can make it new, So I am stepping back from the fire that consumed us two. (Outro - Week 4: A Healthy Marital Dynamic and Spiritual Growth) Ephesians 5:21—mutual submission in the light, Not a hierarchy of crushing out another's light. Sanctification is the Comforter's holy task (John 14:26), Frees us from the heavy burden that we used to mask. It’s a sad and quiet ending as we pack the heavy bags, Reclaiming the identity that human pressure drags. God knew me first... And God knows me still. Releasing your grip... To walk His will.
