I drew up plans on a paper map, Marked every mile, every place I’d be at, Thought I knew the road, thought I knew the way, Had tomorrow figured out yesterday. But the wind changed course and the seasons turned, Some doors closed and some bridges burned, Then I heard a whisper in the waiting still, “Child, not your way—but My will.” Every breath is borrowed, every dawn is grace, Every step is mercy that I didn’t create, I can make my plans, but I know what’s true Deo volente, God willing, The river keeps flowing where He’s leading. Deo volente, God willing, I’m trusting the hand that I’m not seeing. If tomorrow comes, I’ll lift Your name, If the storm rolls in, You’re still the same. My future’s not mine—it’s Yours to fill, Deo volente, God willing. I chased control like it was gold, Tried to hold tomorrow in my hands and hold, But time reminds me every day, That life is a gift I cannot make. The proud heart says, “Look what I’ve done,” The humble heart says, “Thy Kingdom come.” So I surrender every dream I build, To the One whose purpose stands fulfilled. Every open door and every closed gate, Every detour working for a greater fate, I don’t know what’s next, but I know who will Deo volente, God willing, The river keeps flowing where He’s leading. Deo volente, God willing, I’m trusting the hand that I’m not seeing. If tomorrow comes, I’ll lift Your name, If the storm rolls in, You’re still the same. My future’s not mine—it’s Yours to fill, Deo volente, God willing. James said, “Don’t boast about tomorrow,” Life’s a mist, here then gone in sorrow. But the One who holds eternity, Is writing every page for me. Not my timing, not my throne, Not my kingdom, not my own. Every heartbeat echoes still, “Only by the Master’s will.” God willing I’ll rise, God willing I’ll stand, God willing I’ll follow Your perfect plan. God willing I’ll love, God willing I’ll give, God willing I’ll learn what it means to live. Not by might, not by skill, But according to Your holy will. Deo volente, God willing, The mountains move when You’re speaking. Deo volente, God willing, My hope is in the King who’s leading. If blessings come, I’ll praise Your name, If trials come, I’ll do the same. My life’s an offering, my heart stands still, Deo volente, God willing. Tomorrow is Yours, today is Your gift, You carry the weight I could never lift. From first breath to heaven’s hill, Deo volente… God willing. Deo volente… God willing.
