[Intro Harmony1] Oh-oh, out where the spruce trees sway Oh-oh, Red Hot Sarah, come what may [Verse1] We rolled past Seaside and Cannon Beach Smoked coffee in the cup holders, salt spray on the seats Sarah laughed with a fire-red grin Said, "Tonight, boys, I’m borrowing the fun again" [Prechorus] The moon came up on the logging road Lanterns low and the pine fire showed Everybody knew by the way she stared Red Hot Sarah had the whole place scared [Chorus] Sarah lit it up in the pines Red Hot Sarah, all green eyes Sarah lit it up in the pines By the coast and the cedar, nobody sat quiet [Harmony2] Hey now, hey now She had us all singin' out loud [Verse2] Next day we hit the Portland side Rain on the glass and a wild-eyed ride She danced through Powell's with a stolen tune Then bought a cheap hat and a red balloon [Prechorus2] She said, "Keep up if you want this tale" Bridge of the city, then back to the trail Some folks stare, some folks run Sarah just laughs and never comes undone [Chorus2] Sarah lit it up in the pines Red Hot Sarah, all green eyes Sarah lit it up in the pines By the coast and the cedar, nobody sat quiet [Harmony3] Oh-oh-oh, let it roll Oh-oh-oh, Red Hot Sarah, take control [Verse3] We cut back west where the tide was high Her boots got clean in the firefly sky She tipped her cup to the cedar roof Said, "Truth's a habit, and so is proof" [Prechorus3] Then the whole line leaned in close One hand high, one hand on the toast When Sarah counted, the sparks flew far Like a match strike under a jar [Chorus3] Sarah lit it up in the pines Red Hot Sarah, all green eyes Sarah lit it up in the pines By the coast and the cedar, nobody sat quiet [Verse4] Now folks still talk by the bay at dawn 'Bout a red-haired spark and the way she shone From Portland bars to the cedar shade She left a trail where the best nights stayed [Bridge] If you hear that shout when the wind runs free Follow that laugh through the hemlock trees It’s not a rumor, it’s not a dream It’s Red Hot Sarah and her wild little scene [Outro] Party in the woods Party in the woods Red Hot Sarah Party in the woods
