🎶 Just sit right back and you’ll hear a tale, a tale of a fishing trip, That started out on Istokpoga, aboard our little skiff. The sun was bright, the sky was blue, the water calm and still, We grabbed our rods and cast our lines, just fishing for the thrill. (Just fishing for the thrill!) The fish were barely biting then, the waves were getting rough, We headed south, the wind blew north, the water got real tough. (The water got real tough!) Waves broke over the bow that day, but still we carried on, A three-hour trip was all we planned, but things were going wrong. (Things were going wrong!) 🎶 The engine coughed, the gas ran low, the sky turned dark as night, The anchor slipped, the compass spun—our course was lost from sight! The wind howled loud, the rain came down, we tried to turn around, The shoreline seemed so far away, we feared we might go down! (We feared we might go down!) But luck was on our side that day, the storm began to fade, With one last prayer and one last push, we made it back—half swayed! So now we tell this tale to you, with beer and bait in hand, And swear we’ll never take again, a trip that’s underplanned! (A trip that’s underplanned!) 🎶 So if you sail Istokpoga's waves, beware of what they hide, It’s just a lake—but trust me, friend, it’s got the ocean’s pride! 🎶 (Da-da-da-da-da!)
