My breath is slow and heavy tonight I don't sleep, I'm just tired to pretend that silence is empty. The lamp flickers by itself like it would try to say something but no one would understand. I sit where I left everything, was it today or weeks ago? Did today even arrive? I search for names that fills my mouth, but I can't find them anywhere. Still I hear them inside. Outside, the world continues it's small victories, streetlights turning on, someone laughing three floors below. Here time moves sideways, in my loose grip, there it goes again and hits the wall. It hasn't rained in months now, where is all the noise? I still can't sleep, the silence is too loud, it keeps me awake. And the neighbor upstairs plays hockey once again.
