So far above where we began So far above where we began So far above where we began A humble launchpad A simple, silly plan Rockets we tried, efforts all failed But our hearts, our dreams, would not be veiled Kept building, kept trying 'til that one special day that our boosters kicked in and the Earth fell away Now from Moon to Mars we dream anew Launchpad's built, our mission crewed They'll be moving forward out into the black They've made their peace that they won't be coming back! Oh, Mission Mars we're set to go! Helmets on, engines aglow Sending our love to the Shibes we've known so long No matter where we go, know we'll be holding strong Waving our final goodbyes to this place Lifting off to space Moon dust left behind Got the Red planet on our mind Now from Moon to Mars we dream anew Launchpad's built, our mission crewed They'll be moving forward out into the black They've made their peace that they won't be coming back! Oh, Mission Mars we're set to go! Helmets on, engines aglow Sending our love to the Shibes we've known so long No matter where we go, know we'll be holding strong Waving our final goodbyes to this place Lifting off to space Moon dust left behind Got the Red planet on our mind Now we've rocketed into the deep and prepped for hyper sleep We've got so many million miles left to go Will we awake to that crimson glow? We hope! Mission Mars we're going dark You filled our hearts, caused dreams to spark It's been such an awesome ride Trying to not get teary-eyed We'll see you on the other side! Here we go flying into the void Far beyond the moon To Mars is where we head Soon we'll see the planet red So far above where we began So far above where we began So far above where we began Here we go... So far above where we began Here we go flying into the void Far beyond the moon To Mars is where we head Soon we'll see the planet red!
