[Verse] They laid Him down in a stranger's care A borrowed tomb in the garden fair No crown of gold just thorns to wear But love was written everywhere [Verse 2] Joseph came with trembling hands Wrapped Him tight in linen bands The stone was rolled by human plans Yet heaven knew what God commands [Chorus] Oh borrowed tomb it couldn’t stay The stone rolled back on the third day A resting place that held no gloom Forever changed by a borrowed tomb [Verse 3] The world went quiet the sky turned gray Disciples wept and knelt to pray But even silence had to obey For life would rise and death decay [Bridge] What seemed like loss became a win The grave gave way to life again A borrowed tomb was just a bend our story flows to have no end [Chorus] Oh borrowed tomb it couldn’t stay The stone rolled back on the third day A resting place that held no gloom Forever changed by a borrowed tomb
