Michael rose among the heavens, At his side the armies stood. Against the Dragon and his angels, Fire answered fire above. Ancient serpent! Great deceiver! He who led the world astray! No place remained for him in heaven. No throne. No crown. No place to stay! The heavens shook! The stars grew pale! The Dragon fought... BUT COULD NOT PREVAIL! WAR IN HEAVEN! Let the ancient serpent fall! WAR IN HEAVEN! Hear the victory call! Cast him down! Cast him down! From the heights into the night! The accuser falls! The heavens roar! THE DRAGON CANNOT WIN THIS WAR! Down he fell, The old deceiver, Satan cast upon the earth. And with him fell His rebel angels, Driven from the heavens' birth. Then a mighty voice went ringing, Through the halls beyond the sun: "Now salvation! Now the kingdom! For the victory has come!" WAR IN HEAVEN! Let the ancient serpent fall! WAR IN HEAVEN! Hear the victory call! Cast him down! Cast him down! From the heights into the night! The accuser falls! The heavens roar! THE DRAGON CANNOT WIN THIS WAR! They conquered not By sword or thunder, But by the blood And what they spoke. They loved not life Above their witness, And so the Dragon's kingdom broke. Rejoice, O heavens... But Earth below... BEWARE! For down he comes In burning fury! His time is short! His hatred grows! The heavens sing Of victory... While Earth awaits What heaven knows. WAR IN HEAVEN! From the highest throne he fell! WAR IN HEAVEN! Now the Dragon walks the world! Cast him down! Cast him down! But hear the warning from above: His time is short! His wrath is great! AND NOW HE STANDS BEFORE THE SEA!
