As the old year becomes a memory To add to what we've got It's time to start afresh again And find a brand new slot To fit in place a clean start To walk the road ahead To get rid of the old you And start again instead We have all the best intentions It's the same as every year We're gonna do it this time Give my word Now don't you fear [music break] Didn't have the time these past days To fullfill what you forgot Gonna make it right this new year Tryin something That you're not Time to throw out all the pretence File the stranger under No Lookin on into your future Knowin where you wanna go The first month you're still dreamin Know you're gonna see it through This time it's gonna be right And you know just what to do We have all the best intentions It's the same as every year We're gonna do it this time Give my word Now don't you fear [Bridge] Give my word now don't you fear Summer comes and you keep sayin That you'll start again today But life is rushin by you Too short hours in the day Time to throw out all the pretence File the stranger under No Lookin on into your future Knowin where you wanna go [music break] Here we are in late December New year's comin round again Lookin back at all those lost days This time won't be the same We all have the best intentions It's the same as every year We're gonna do it this time Give my word Now don't you fear Time to throw out all the pretence File the stranger under No Lookin out into your future Knowin where you wanna go Knowin where you wanna go We have all the best intentions It's the same as every year Yeah, it's the same as every year All those best intentions Yeah, just the same as every year.....
