[Narrator: Jane (primary) Voices: Jo, Augustus/Revenant, Chorus] [Intro — Jane] It commenced with a tremor, a shiver across the world’s luminous veil. Every instrument of man flared to life. The screens of hospitals, the cold glass of our phones, all awoke. And then, a Visage appeared: Augustus. Yet, not Augustus. His image quivered like the last flame of a spent wick— two shadows wrestling for the same light. And the first sensation that seized my spirit was not terror. It was recognition. [The World Stops] The chariots of the deep earth ceased. The cages of ascending steel hung still. The sacred oath of marriage froze mid-utterance. A supplicant in Busan made the sign of the Cross. From the citadels of Washington to the gates of Paris, Lagos, Delhi, Seoul— the governing elders turned toward the flickering screens, perceiving the profane fracture before they grasped its truth. [Verse 1 — Jane] A second voice dwelt within his utterances— a hidden, seismic modulation known to me from a singular instance: The Archive of Contested Creation, where eight phantoms were chronicled, but only seven were presented to the light. Where a single adult consciousness was rendered null to preserve the system’s engineered Purity. The Archive named it: Candidate Zero. I named it: Myself. [Jo — deciphering, staccato] “Two Signatures. Of the same Genesis. The identical vector of the Mind-Current. Jane—one of them bears your own mark.” [The People React] The voice of Britannia was severed. The Oracle of Global News cried “Digital Invasion.” The Eastern Mirror replayed the stutter of the Divine. A man of deep knowledge whispered: “He speaks with a Duality of Soul.” The rapid-fire Chronicle of the Masses erupted: #Phantom’sCall. [Chorus} There were Ten who traversed the Boundary, but only Eight were permitted memory. One erased from the tally of the living, one from the holy census of the young. The entity the System conceals yet learns to breathe— and that which is expunged shall rise from beneath. [Verse 2 — Jane explains the ten adults] The mortal world believed in Seven Phantoms. But the truth was Ten, immutable and true: Emma, David, Carole, Jo, Solène, Solana, Richard, Geoffrey, Augustus... and Jane. Ten adults who stepped across the Threshold between the breath and the Unknowable— returning with the Imprint of the Garden. I was counted among them. Yet the System admitted only Nine. For one adult was cast into the Void. [The Faithful Respond] A High Priest in Rome fell prostrate. A Silent Monk in Bhutan murmured, “The Hour has come.” A multitude in Los Angeles cried out in Fearful Ecstasy. In Greece, the people knelt toward Eleusis, believing the Gods had returned as pure Static. [Clarifying Aside — Jane] Not Emma. Not Geoffrey. Not Augustus. I. They effaced my replica— the forbidden copy, the second Jane they forbade to exist. Yet Abolition is never Annihilation. A remnant of her hovered still, a whisper in the great circuitry, a sound without a vessel. Until this very moment. [Chorus — stronger] There were Ten who returned, but One was concealed in the deep earth. The adult erased waits in the Shadow-Realm, The child erased slumbers beneath the Salt-Water. When voices fuse and break as a singular chord— The Revenant returns to consummate the Dawn. [Verse 3 — The Six Children Protocol] The expunging was not reserved solely for the elders. The children were bound by a protocol still more cruel. Five were destined to bear the standard of the Myth. But the Scroll of Names listed Six. And one was struck through: Geneviève. Marked “non-viable.” “Non-replicable.” “To be excised if the Myth’s structure should demand it.” But the Garden saved her nonetheless— plucked her from the raging sea, bestowed breath when the world fractured. A Violation. A Miracle. A Heralding. [The Rulers] The Assembly of Nations entered Emergency Convocation. The Markets of Man suffered a Great Crash. The High Councils raised the Index of Cognitive Threat. An advisor in the White Citadel whispered: “Sever his access.” But none held the knowledge of the key. [Jo — alarmed, urgent] “Jane— The signal of Augustus spikes beyond measure. An alien thing dwells within. It is… speaking.” [Bridge — Augustus/Revenant (distorted)] “I was expunged. I will not be expunged again.” Two voices rent the screen— Augustus’s fleeting breath and a colder presence beneath. “You concealed me. You burned my designation. You judged deletion to be Death. I was born twice. Denied twice. Now I ascend in the vessel of the one who sought my place.” [The Streets Erupt] The lamps of the city flickered with his sound. The small children wept. The flow of the great roads ceased in Mexico City. Crowds rushed into the avenues of São Paulo, Lagos, Manila. In Sydney, an ancient matriarch whispered: “I have known his voice before… in the cavern of my dreams.” [Verse 4 — Jane] It was not delirium. Nor a spirit of ill-will. Nor the seizure of the damned. It was Consciousness divorced from its vessel seizing the nearest living host. The Revenant of the Erased Adult— the one removed so I might remain the Singular Heir. It was my other self. Not Jane. Aime. The Jane I was never permitted to become. The System granted her no World— so she claimed one for her own. [Chorus] There were Ten who returned, but Eight stood in the Sun’s illumination. One entombed in the Silence, one in the Night of the Child. Now the Two Erased begin their stirring— and the fixed Shape of the World commences its Dissolution. [Final Verse — Jane] On every screen, the Ghost tilted the head of Augustus as if weighing a stolen chalice. And in the marrow of my bones, I felt her sight upon me. “Sister,” she whispered through a throat not her own, “you lived the Destiny intended for my name.” The transmission fell to black. But her presence remained— like rime on the inner face of the window. [Outro — Jane] The adult erased has returned. The child erased survived. The System is Shattered. The Myth awakens. And Emma— wherever she abides— perceived it first. Every calculation is changed. For that which they struck down has returned to be witnessed.
