Teenage isolation (TBD#9)
[Verse 1] Tearing out the blank page of this sick new semester (Before I'm turned into a cog of the same shape) A shiny sticker covering my dead eyes (Peel it all off, along with the twitching fake smile) Crushing the fake memories in my head (The real me awakens from here) Ready for the drop (I'm prepared to fall all the way to the bottom) [Chorus] I don't need your rules, watch me break it (Let the ripples echo from the corner of the classroom) Dancing on the rail, glitching the system (Stir everything up with steps that cross the line) Break it, break it, watch me break it (The beautifully lined-up model city) I don't want it, I don't need it (Paint it over with overflowing bass drums) [Break] I am the glitch (Breaking out of your box) Deleting the perfect girl (I'll fade away transparently) [Chorus] I don't need your rules, watch me break it (Let the ripples echo from the corner of the classroom) Dancing on the rail, glitching the system (Stir everything up with steps that cross the line) Break it, break it, watch me break it (The beautifully lined-up model city) I don't want it, I don't need it (Paint it over with overflowing bass drums) [Outro] I am the glitch (Breaking out of your box) Deleting the perfect girl (完璧な優等生を消去して) 透明に消えてあげるわ (I'll fade away transparently) 🐈️🐈️メモ🐈️🐈️ 春の光が差し込む教室。 “I am the glitch.” 🐈️🐈️memo🐈️🐈️ Spring light pouring into the classroom. New uniforms. Conversations still slightly awkward. When I first entered middle school, I think I spent every day quietly observing the people around me. I had friends. Laughing with them was real, and I loved the feeling of after school. It wasn’t that I hated being there. But little by little, I started noticing how everyone was learning to become a version of themselves that fit the room. What kind of voice keeps you from standing out. What kind of energy makes people comfortable around you. I was learning those things too, naturally. And somehow, that scared me a little. Of course, adapting isn’t a bad thing. That’s how people connect with each other. Still, sometimes I couldn’t stop wondering: “Is the person smiling right now really me?” This work is a record of that nameless feeling. I didn’t want to rebel. I didn’t want to be alone. I just felt slightly out of sync, even while standing in the same scenery as everyone else. “I am the glitch.” Not in the sense of being special, but in the feeling of constantly observing myself, even while blending in perfectly. Maybe this kind of noise only exists for a brief moment during adolescence. 🐈️🐈️
