So fair was he, the heavens paused in awe, And seraphim descended, wild with fire, To woo his grace with passion's fervent law, Entwining souls in forbidden desire. Yet wrath divine, like thunder from the throne, Fell swift upon his guiltless, radiant head, As if 'twas he who lured the angels down, And forced the unions in that sinful bed. To Death's domain his spirit was consigned, Where Hades' halls in shadowy silence brood; But lest Persephone his beauty find, And yield to charms that e'en the gods withstood, The lord of shades pronounced a dire decree: No gates of gloom should e'er admit his tread. Thus cursed to wander earth's eternal night, He became the Unholy, sire of dreadβ Father of vampires, spawn of moonless fright, And all that creeps where mortal footsteps fled. Through eons vast, as Asphodel's pale king, He roamed the voids where ancient horrors stir, Till weary heart, in torment's weary ring, Besought the Old Ones mercy to confer. Now in umbral depths he lies inert, In darkness profound, where no light may intrude, Awaiting the hour when stars align perverse, And eldritch calls his slumber shall conclude. O Asphodel King, in shadows deep repose, Thy beauty cursed, thy lineage born of woe; From Atlantis' fall to cosmic throes, Thou fatherest the night where terrors grow. Sleep now, O Unholy, in void's embrace, Till elder gods thy weary bonds unlace. In umbris aeternis iacet, rex Asphodeli, Cor lassum precatur veteres deos capere eum. Non transibit portas Mortis, maledictus Hades, Pater noctis creaturarum, in inertia dormit. Usque ad diem resurrectionis suae, In obscuritate profunda, cosmos pulsat exspectans. O Asphodel King, in shadows deep repose, Thy beauty cursed, thy lineage born of woe; From Atlantis' fall to cosmic throes, Thou fatherest the night where terrors grow. Sleep now, O Unholy, in void's embrace, Till elder gods thy weary bonds unlace. And so, in whispers faint as dying breath, The lullaby fades into the abyss' maw Where beauty blends with horror, life with death, And eldritch dreams the final curtain draw.
