[Verse 1] Found a quarter in my shoe Bought a peach at aisle two You were laughing by the carts Holding rain in orange parts Your coat was half a joke Zip stuck under all that smoke You said, "It comes and goes" Like the puddles at our toes [Pre-Chorus] And the sky went gray then gold Like a coin in a dirty fold You looked up, I looked too Then the whole street split in two [Chorus] Orange umbrella, spin me around Orange umbrella, don’t put it down Keep that color in the rain Keep that little wild thing sane Orange umbrella, lead the way Orange umbrella, stay, stay, stay If the wind wants to act tough We’ve got one bright enough [Verse 2] We walked past the bakery truck Crumbs on your sleeve, bad luck You said the day felt bent But you smiled like you meant I saw your shoes fill up With a whole small world of stuff Storm drain singing low While your laugh cut through the flow [Pre-Chorus] And the sky went gray then gold Like a coin in a dirty fold You looked up, I looked too Then the whole street split in two [Chorus] Orange umbrella, spin me around Orange umbrella, don’t put it down Keep that color in the rain Keep that little wild thing sane Orange umbrella, lead the way Orange umbrella, stay, stay, stay If the wind wants to act tough We’ve got one bright enough [Bridge] One step, two step No map, no test Rain taps fast Then it lets us pass You grin, I grin Again and again That cheap bright dome Makes the cold feel home [Final Chorus] Orange umbrella, spin me around Orange umbrella, don’t put it down Keep that color in the rain Keep that little wild thing sane Orange umbrella, lead the way Orange umbrella, stay, stay, stay If the wind wants to act tough We’ve got one bright enough
