Stay – "Snow keeps the footprints I made getting here Wings dragging feathers gone thin and grey I counted the lights on the tower for hours just to remember which way was away" "I climbed through the fence with the tail still bleeding horns caught on branches I tore right through I came here before you stopped breathing wrapped my arms around what was left of you" Kiss like confession, kiss like a cure I'm not asking heaven, I'm asking you: endure My only love sprung from my only hate too early seen unknown, and known too late call me the sin, call me the cost I'll still be standing here when you feel lost "I'm down to the feathers, down to the frame" "I know. I've got strength. I'll carry the weight" "Somewhere in the snow I put down my name" "I found it. I'm keeping it. It is not too late" Prodigious birth of love it is to me, that I must love a loathed enemy My only love sprung from my only hate too early seen unknown, and known too late call me the sin, call me the cost I'll still be standing here when you feel lost "Breathe." "Trying." "That's enough." [SPOILER ALERT "My only love sprung from my only hate. Too early seen unknown, and known too late. Prodigious birth of love it is to me, that I must love a loathed enemy" – Juliet's line, spoken the moment she realizes she's kissed the son of her family's enemy and the love she feels is forbidden. Here the line is not so much about the Shakespearean love that persists against all obstacles and ends in a disaster. This take is more about the aspect of staying at each other’s side and supporting the other despite everything that should have kept them apart. It’s a spin, that is not represented in the Shakespearean play. There, both protagonists only act in their own interests. What we hear here is a different spin. A „what if they not only fell in love but really cared for each other“. [SPOILER-WARNUNG "My only love sprung from my only hate. Too early seen unknown, and known too late.
