Sand Silence Then a single light spins across the dunes Welcome to the midnight disco Between the pyramids Gold dust In my hair Laser beams on ancient stone Camels parked By the gate DJ on a granite throne Flutes ride On a swirling line Over drums that shake the ground One beat Hits the tombs And the coffins creak around (oh!) Bandages rustle in time Scarabs crawl up the spine Hear the sarcophagus slide Something’s coming alive tonight Mummies at the midnight disco (hey!) Hands up, feel the desert glow Spinning under stars and pharaohs Everybody shouting, “Let’s go, let’s go!” Bones shake to the echoing sound Sandstorms kicking up from the ground Mummies at the midnight disco Dance until the sun says “whoa” Headdress Crooked crown King Tut doing tiny spins Queen’s ghost In a gown Laughing as the bass cuts in Crowd jumps Like a tidal wave Torches drawing glowing rings Jackal masks In a circle Clapping while the old gods sing (oh yeah) You feel that? That’s four thousand years In your feet right now Left Right Left Rise from your sarcophagus And shake it like you mean it Palm trees flicker in blue Ancient eyes shining through Hear that heartbeat boom Every sarcophagus leaves the room Mummies at the midnight disco (hey!) Hands up, feel the desert glow Spinning under stars and pharaohs Everybody shouting, “Let’s go, let’s go!” Bones shake to the echoing sound Sandstorms kicking up from the ground Mummies at the midnight disco Dance until the sun says “whoa” Arms crossed Then they open wide Step-step Now we slide Circle ‘round Hear the people roar One more time, one more, one more From Giza to the galaxy If you can hear my voice You are now part Of the legend of tonight Mummies at the midnight disco (hey!) Hands up, feel the desert glow Spinning under stars and pharaohs Everybody shouting, “Let’s go, let’s go!” Bones shake to the echoing sound Sandstorms kicking up from the ground Mummies at the midnight disco Dance until the sun says “whoa” Crowd fades But the dunes still hum Somewhere in the dark they drum Desert sky with a secret shine See you at the next rewind (oh yeah)
