Blood and Potatoes

(Verse 1 - Ominous & Slow) In the hills of green, where the cold winds blow, Lived Dean the farmer, strong and slow. His fields of gold, his pride so grand, Fed the folk of Ireland’s land. (Verse 2 - Introducing the Foolish Young Lad) But down the road, with hunger keen, Came young Neb, both sly and lean. His belly ached, his pockets bare, And in his eyes—an outlaw’s glare. (Chorus - Loud & Fierce!) Blood and potatoes, fists in the air, One man’s hunger, one man’s care! Torn by anger, lost in the fight, Under the moon on a cold, dark night! (Verse 3 - The Fight Begins!) Neb reached forth with thieving hand, Dean roared loud, "Not on my land!" A shovel swung, a sack took flight, Spuds were weapons in the night! (Verse 4 - The Clash Turns Deadly!) A punch to the jaw, a boot to the chest, Neither man would dare to rest. Neb grabbed Dean, threw him down, Dean rose up with a thund’rous frown! (Chorus - Even More Intense!) Blood and potatoes, fists in the air, One man’s hunger, one man’s care! Torn by anger, lost in the fight, Under the moon on a cold, dark night! (Bridge - The Tragic Turning Point) The crowd did gather, whispers spread, Would one man fall? Would one be dead? Till finally, breathless, bruised, and sore, They both collapsed—could fight no more. (Verse 5 - The Aftermath) Neb lay still, with tater in hand, Dean, half-laughing, could barely stand. "Boy, ye fool, just ask me right, And I’d have fed ye, no need to fight!" (Final Chorus - Triumphant, Yet Somber) Blood and potatoes, fists in the air, One man’s hunger, one man’s care! A lesson learned, the price was steep, For pride and spuds, no man should weep. (Outro - A Soft, Haunting Warning) So heed this tale, both young and bold, Not all fights are worth the gold. For hunger fades, and wounds will mend, But pride, my friend, brings bitter ends.
