(Intro – Spoken)* This one weren’t about logic. This one weren’t about speed. This was about ticking routes… Filling gaps… And adding chaos where none was needed. --- *(Verse 1 – The Familiar Start)* 664 out of Southam lane, Same old fields, same old rain, Long Itchington, Offchurch glide, Cubbington bends on the morning ride. Lillington through to North Leam line, No breakdowns—rare sign of time, For once Stagecoach kept it clean— Too calm for what this day would mean. --- *(Verse 2 – The Tiny Connector)* 77A down to the station side, Parish Church on the short little ride, Thought I’d lost my card again— Heart dropped quick then rose my friend. Driver chatting when he should depart, Classic delay before the start, Still got there, just enough room— Train time now, shift the tune. --- *(Chorus)* This the loop to fill in buses, Take more routes for no good reason, If there’s a longer way to go— That’s the path I’m choosing though. Bus to rail then back again, Change the plan at every bend, No straight route but it’s all fine— That’s the Midlands state of mind. --- *(Verse 3 – Solihull Pivot)* 09:01 Chiltern glide, Warwick stops then countryside, Dorridge flash then Solihull near— Stepped off there to change the gear. Bit confusion at the stand outside, Which X2? Which side? Which ride? Still got sorted, doors swung wide— Into Birmingham city ride. --- *(Verse 4 – X2 to Brum)* Lode Heath roads and Hobs Moat lane, Sheldon stretch then on again, Yardley, Small Heath, Bordesley flow— Digbeth towers start to grow. City centre in the midday heat— Another route ticked, another seat. --- *(Verse 5 – Then Straight Back Out)* Could’ve stayed in Brum, been sensible then… Nah. X1 to Coventry instead. Digbeth back and Bordesley slide, Airport, NEC on the ride, Meriden stretch then Allesley Park, Coundon roads till city sparks. Walked around and noticed clear— Something in Brum got knocked down here. First time in Coventry since the win— Championship title, sky blue grin. --- *(Chorus)* This the loop to fill in buses, One more route? Then one more does it, Every chance to add a line— I’ll take it every single time. No clean plan, no shortest way, Just route collecting through the day, No straight logic, no design— That’s the Midlands collector mind. --- *(Verse 6 – Elite Lunch Break)* Co-op and Greggs, double play, Tandoori baguette saved the day, Still Vimto, Quavers too— Classic combo, proven true. Fuelled up quick, then back outside— Still more madness left to ride. --- *(Verse 7 – Coventry to Uni Chaos)* 11 to Leam but I bailed halfway, Warwick Uni where I changed the day, Got it purely for extra routes— No practical reason, truth comes out. Then U1 by the bypass lane, Warwick Gates then Spa again, NX ticket wouldn’t take me through— So I gamed the map with something new. --- *(Bridge – Railfan Bonus Round)* 14:02 from platform 4, Leam to Warwick… and not much more, Two-car 165 set inside— Took that train just for the ride. Then 14:14 came through fast, Explorer set with loco class, 68 pushing Mark 5 line— Back to Leam in record time. Already called while still at Warwick— That change was mad, almost comic. --- *(Verse 8 – Home Stretch)* X18 up to Parade once more, Parish Church like before, Then 63 for the final run— Southam bound in evening sun. Radford Semele, Ufton lane, HS2 works again. Back where the whole thing first began— Another strange but perfect plan. --- *(Final Chorus)* This the loop to fill in buses, Ticking gaps and causing fusses, From Birmingham roads to Coventry lines— Still got home just in time. Every route I hadn’t done, Turned the map into some fun, No straight path but it aligned— That’s the collector state of mind. --- *(Outro – Spoken)* Needed? No. Efficient? Never. Worth it? Absolutely.
