CHOPPED WORM — Metal Remix [Tiny music-box melody, dirt-crackle ambience, soft humming] I’m a chopped worm I will never learn (and neither will I…) Diverge Diverge [Distorted guitar begins crawling underneath] Every ending Learns locomotion Less and lesser Diverge [whispered: “less and lesser… less and lesser…”] I’m a chopped worm Leave me in the loamy earth Diverge Lesser [Guitars abruptly cut. Silence.] I’m a chopped worm (chopped worm) I never learn. We yearn. We yearn. [SCREAMED: “WE YEEEEARN!”] DIVERGE! [FULL METAL BREAKDOWN — down-tuned guitars, double kick, distorted bass] CHOPPED! WORM! [chug] CHOPPED! WORM! [high scream: “CUT ME APART—”] [low scream: “I STILL MOVE!”] DIVERGE! DIVERGE! DIVERGE! [Everything collapses instantly back into the cute melody] Every ending Learns locomotion Less and lesser Ever after (Ever after, Ever after…) [sweet layered vocals becoming increasingly dissonant] Diverge… I’m a chopped worm I will never learn (and neither will I) [guitars suddenly return] DIVERGE! (Lesser!) Ever after (Ever after, Ever after) [SCREAMED underneath the final sweet vocal:] “EVER AFTER! EVER AFTER! EVER AFTERRRRRR!” [Hard stop.] [tiny whisper] …and neither will I.
