Blue Collar Fella’ (White Collar Dollar) Verse 1 It never was a dream of mine Just how it all played out Traded in my boots and jeans For a tie and button-down Got a job in corporate America Climbed a ladder I never planned But I’d trade it all tomorrow Just to shake an honest hand Chorus I’m a blue collar fella Leaving white collar dollar and it ain’t as good as it seems My buddies out fishing While I’m stuck here wishing I was anywhere but this scene Yeah the money’s alright But it don’t feel right Living someone else’s dream I’m a blue collar fella... making white collar dollar And it ain’t as good as it seems Verse 2 The girls all talk in numbers now And things I don’t understand Used to be a backroad ride Was all it took to hold her hand Now it’s dinners and designer things Everybody chasin’ diamond rings I miss a porch swing and a sunset sky And a girl who loved the simple life Chorus I’m a blue collar fella Leaving white collar dollar and it ain’t as good --as it seems My buddies out fishing While I’m stuck here wishing I was anywhere but this scene Yeah the money’s alright But it don’t feel right Living someone else’s dream I’m a blue collar fella... making white collar dollar And it ain’t as good --as it seems Verse 3 This car won’t make a dirt road Like my old truck used to do Got a dog with papers longer Than the fence line that I knew Everything’s so polished now But something’s feeling off I’d trade it for a Friday night with good friends and some Busch Lite Bridge (Decision Moment) So I’m cashing in this corner office Trading it for stars at night Going back where life’s simple And everything feels right Final Chorus (Resolution) I’m a blue collar fella Leaving white collar dollar It ain’t worth missing who I used to be! Where the boots hit dirt And hard work --works And you can shake a good man’s hand Yeah the money don’t mean What it used to mean I’m a blue collar fella Leaving white collar dollar And it ain’t as good as it seems ....and it ain't as good as it seems
