The Setup Guide for all Roomba® models Basic Operating and Use Instructions for Roomba to Get Started Aug 29, 2024•Knowledge Description Please refer to the following instructions to operate your robot: Please note that for Roomba Combo® 10 Max, the AutoWash™ Dock needs to be set up too. Please visit this article for specific instructions. “Setup Guide for Roomba Combo® 10 Max robot + AutoWash™ Dock” 1. Place your robot on the dock and let it charge for a couple of hours. In an uncluttered area, place the charging station flat against a wall on a level floor surface. Plug one end of the line cord into the dock and the other into a wall outlet. Your robot has been sent in shipping mode. Place your robot on the dock to wake it up, making sure the metal charging contacts on the dock match up with those underneath the robot. When first activating your robot, it will take around one (1) minute for it to start. During the process, you will see a white light spinning on the light ring around the bin lid. Once your robot is awake, it will play a tone. Roomba® ships with a partial battery charge. If you start a cleaning cycle before charging the battery fully, Roomba® may return to the dock to recharge sooner than it will during future cleaning cycles. We recommend that you charge the robot on the dock for 3 hours prior to starting the first complete cleaning job. Note: For Roomba Essentials, be sure to remove the foam bumper inserts and the thin plastic film over the IR window on the bumper that the robot is shipped with. Note: for 400-900 series robots, before using Roomba® for the very first time, you must activate its battery. Do so by removing the yellow pull tab from the bottom of your robot. To optimize the position of the dock, visit these pages for more information: “Tips on Where and How you should place your Roomba® Home Base® in your home.” “Tips for Where and How Should you Place my Roomba® Clean Base™ in the house.” 2. Download and connect to the iRobot® HOME App. The app will walk you through connecting Roomba® to your home network.
