I don’t yell no more I just bleed in silence every word I never said became my act of violence they told me calm down but they never felt the quake inside I been carryin’ storms so long I started callin’ lightning mine anger ain’t rage it’s the ghost of pain with a sharper face it’s a choir of regrets singin’ hymns I can’t erase I’m scared of peace it feels too still like breathin’ after you’ve swallowed pills like standin’ still when your soul still runs like lookin’ for shade under broken suns I burned bridges and called it warmth I slept with guilt just to feel reborn I told myself I was past the hurt but pain keeps mailin’ letters to my worth I hate what I love and I love what I hate I pray for calm but I argue with fate I built my cage from every no I got and carved my name in every shot I fought they said time heals but it just teaches pain to walk now my anger talks soft but still cuts when I talk I tried holdin’ forgiveness but it slipped through my hands like a blade with no handle that still understands every scar’s a scripture every bruise a psalm every quiet night is my holy calm anger’s the art of survivin’ shame painted in colors I can’t name I smile in storms I never outgrew I laugh in mirrors that cry back too I been good at losin’ like it’s part of my faith I been prayin’ for peace with a clenched-up face I been wishin’ for wings but I built my cage I been talkin’ to time but it won’t engage I learned the difference between anger and fire one burns out the other builds an empire but both leave ashes where love expired and both keep ghosts of what I desired I’m the silence after the slam of doors I’m the echo that peace ignores I’m the poem rage never finished the sinner who stayed till guilt diminished I don’t hate you I just hate that I still care that I still find you in empty air that I still bleed where you said fair that I still dream of what’s no longer there I’m tired of holdin’ hands with my hate tired of forgivin’ things too late tired of prayin’ for closure that won’t reply tired of breathin’ when I only sigh anger taught me more than love ever could showed me the parts of me misunderstood showed me the fire that built my name and the smoke that spelled my shame I’m not broken I’m just burned in shape still glowin’ from every mistake I walk with fire but speak with grace I wear my pain like a sacred place ’cause anger’s not evil it’s grief in disguise a truth too bright for peaceful eyes it’s the way the heart says I still try even when the world let it die so I let it breathe I let it scream I let it break me just to dream and if it kills me that’s fine too at least the fire burned honest and true
