[Intro] [Soft Piano] [Instrumental builds slowly] [Male Lead] There's a story people whisper When the lights are burning low About a man behind the mirror That you're never meant to know They say don't ask about him They say don't speak his name Because once you call him closer Nothing ever stays the same [Male Group Harmony] Don't say his name Don't play that game [Low Male Whisper] Candyman [Verse 1] They say he's got a silver hook And a coat as black as night He waits behind the bathroom glass Just outside your sight You laugh and say it's only stories Something children tell Then somebody dares you And suddenly you can't look away [Pre-Chorus] Five times is all it takes Five words can seal your fate So keep your eyes on the mirror And don't make a mistake [Male Group Harmony] Don't make a mistake Don't say his name [Chorus] [Full Male Group] The Hook Man, the Mirror Man The Man behind the glass The Sweet One, the Dark One Don't let him see you pass They say he's only legend They say he's only a game But everybody knows the story And everybody fears the name [Male Group Harmonies] Don't say his name Don't say his name [Verse 2] You stand alone before the mirror With the bathroom light turned low Your friends are laughing in the hallway Daring you to let it go You use another old nickname And nothing seems to change You laugh and call him something else But something feels strange [Male Group Harmony] Something feels strange [Low Male Whisper] Candyman [Verse 3] The room is getting colder And the lights begin to shake The mirror shows an empty room Then something moves behind your face You turn around, there's nothing You look back, he's gone But somewhere in the silence You hear a distant song [Pre-Chorus] Four times you've heard the warning Four times you've played along One more word upon your lips And everything goes wrong [Male Group Harmony] Don't say it Don't say it [Chorus] [Full Male Group] The Hook Man, the Mirror Man The Man behind the glass The Sweet One, the Dark One Don't let him see you pass They say he's only legend They say he's only a game But everybody knows the story And everybody fears the name [Male Group Harmonies] Don't say his name Don't say his name [Instrumental Break] [Verse 4] You try to leave the bathroom But the doorway isn't there The mirror stretches down the wall And someone stands behind the glass He's holding something silver And he's staring through the room You close your eyes and count to three But he's still standing when you do [Male Group Harmony] Still standing there [Pre-Chorus] You shouldn't have said the first one You shouldn't have played along Four warnings weren't enough And now the last one's coming on [Male Group Harmony] Don't say it Don't say it [Music cuts completely] [Low Male Whisper] Candyman [Silence] [Bridge] [Music returns softly] [Male Lead] The Hook Man The Mirror Man The Man behind the glass The Sweet One The Dark One The one you shouldn't ask [Male Group Harmony] Don't ask Don't ask [Male Lead] The room is getting colder The mirror starts to crack You hear a little whisper And you know he's coming back [Male Group Harmony] Coming back Coming back [Breakdown] [Music drops] [Male Lead] Four names have filled the silence Four warnings have been heard The mirror waits in front of you And waits for one more word [Male Group Whisper] One more word [Male Lead] You tell yourself it's nothing You tell yourself it's fake But there's somebody in the mirror And he's watching you awake [Male Group Whisper] He's watching you [Final Chorus] [Full Male Group] The Hook Man, the Mirror Man The Man behind the glass The Sweet One, the Dark One Don't let him see you pass They say he's only legend They say he's only a game But everybody knows the story And everybody fears the name [Male Group Harmonies] Don't say his name Don't say his name [Final Build] [Instrumental strips back completely] [Male Lead] The room is silent The mirror is still There's nothing moving Nothing at all [Male Group Harmony] Nothing at all [Male Lead] You take one breath You close your eyes And from behind the glass... [Silence] [Music completely stops] [Extremely Low Male Whisper] Candyman [END]
