Intro (Soft piano and distant strings) Through the wilderness, John's voice is calling still, There is a road before us, There is a mountain to climb. Verse 1 In the silence of the valley, Where the lonely shadows fall, There is thunder in the distance, There is mercy in the call. Every crooked road before us, Every valley, every stone— He is calling hearts to wake up, He is calling us back home. Pre-Chorus Let the valley rise, Let the mountain bow, Let the ancient road awaken— Messiah is coming now. Chorus Make His path straight, Prepare the way, Lift up the valleys, Bring down the mountains. Make His path straight, Let every heart awake, King Jesus is drawing near— Prepare the way. Verse 2 Through the wilderness we're walking, Not alone beneath the sky. Though the journey winds before us, There is purpose in each mile. What was hidden will be spoken, What was broken will be healed, And the glory of the Savior Will be seen by every field. Pre-Chorus Let the valley rise, Let the mountain bow, Let the ancient road awaken— Our Messiah Jehovah is coming now. Chorus Make His path straight, Prepare the way, Lift up the valleys, Bring down the mountains. Make His path straight, Let every heart awake, King Jesus is drawing near— Prepare His way. Bridge Every eye will see Him, Every heart will know, Hope is on the horizon, Light is breaking through. No more wandering, No more standing still— We will follow where He leads us, We will trust His will. Final Chorus Make His path straight, Prepare the way, Let every valley rise, Let every mountain shake. Make His path straight, Let every heart awake, The King of kings is drawing near— Prepare His way. Outro (Choir fades over piano and strings) Prepare the way... Prepare the way... King Jesus is drawing near.
