Wheels of the Machine (v4 Remake)
In the grand machine, we all must turn, Each cog and wheel, a life to burn. A glittering city, a tower of gold, But underneath, stories left untold. We spin in circles, day by day, No rest, no pause, no time to play. The mighty engine needs us all, Yet who will catch us when we fall? Turn, oh turn, the wheels of fate, In this world of greed and hate. The gears they grind, the metal screams, But no one hears the broken dreams. The brightest cogs are polished clean, While others rust, left unseen. A chosen few rise to the top, The rest forgotten, until they stop. In the endless race, we strive and strain, For promised riches, we endure the pain. But what’s the cost of this grand design? A life spent turning, without a sign. The wheel that breaks, the part that fails, Is cast aside, without details. A new one fits, to take its place, Another soul lost in the race. Turn, oh turn, the wheels of fate, In this world of greed and hate. The gears they grind, the metal screams, But no one hears the broken dreams. We are the cogs, the unseen hands, Building empires on shifting sands. The grand machine will roll on by, Leaving behind those who cry. In the end, when all is said, When the wheels have turned and the fire’s dead, What remains of this cruel machine? Nothing but dust, where hope had been.
