Maw, Paw, and the TV

V4.5

[Verse] Maw's in her chair, with a quilt in her lap, Watching her soaps, and sipping sweet tea. Paw's got his boots propped up on the floor, Waiting for kickoff on Channel 3. [Verse 2] The clock strikes noon, the game's coming on, But Maw ain't budging from her favorite show. Paw grabs the remote, says, "It's my turn now," And that's when the sparks start to glow. [Chorus] Maw says, "You don't care 'bout romance or love, Just men in helmets, running 'round like fools." Paw fires back, "Your stories ain't real, And you hog the TV, breaking all the rules." [Verse 3] The channel flips back, then forward again, Till Maw's patience snaps like a twig. She grabs the remote, Paw grabs it too, And the TV takes a final jig. [Bridge] It hit the floor with a deafening crash, The screen went dark, and the sparks did fly. Then Maw tossed a pillow, Paw ducked his head, And a teacup sailed through the sky. [Verse 4] Now the house is quiet, the TV is gone, Just the sound of the crickets outside. Maw and Paw sit, glaring across the room, Both too stubborn to swallow their pride.
