[Verse 1] Paper plates on the lawn Ice chest sweating in the shade You flipped those hot dogs slow While the kids ran through the spray Red cups on the fold-out table A cousin told that same old joke Grandpa tapped the rhythm On the bench by the smoke [Pre-Chorus] And the sky kept leaning blue Like it knew what we would do We were all wound up and ready For the night to cut right through [Chorus] Fireworks and a summer bbq Baby, that's my kind of view Fireworks and a summer bbq Stay a little, pull me close to you (Boom-boom, baby) (Stay a little, pull me close to you) [Verse 2] Charcoal on your t-shirt Ketchup on your wrist You laughed when the sparklers Made a silver little hiss Somebody brought the good peach pie Wrapped in foil from the pan You said this feels like home And I knew just where I stand [Pre-Chorus] Now the fire's climbing higher And the night is coming on Every face around the table Singing even if it's wrong [Chorus] Fireworks and a summer bbq Baby, that's my kind of view Fireworks and a summer bbq Stay a little, pull me close to you (Boom-boom, baby) (Stay a little, pull me close to you) [Bridge] We watched the colors break Over the darkening trees Your hand found mine so easy Like it always knew the key And when the last one faded Nobody made a sound We just stood there smiling With the whole warm world around [Final Chorus] Fireworks and a summer bbq Baby, that's my kind of view Fireworks and a summer bbq I wanna be right here with you (Boom-boom, baby) (I wanna be right here with you)
