Verse 1 This ole thermos is a beaut’, it’s taken its share of abuse Back in 2004 when it was new, made the old timers kinda’ confused It wasn’t til’ it tumbled off the bosses truck dented now for good luck Years of being tossed and on a job site has taken its toll but …just like me, every morning ready to roll Chorus That tough ole thermos rides shotgun with me Seen every sunrise a man can see Ain't much to look at but it's still holdin' strong Like the hands that've carried it all along Couple dents and a handle that's loose Kinda like me, gets the job done, with No excuse! Verse 2 Some days my back or head is really aching But that hot coffee, rolling out from the bottle, my salvation I look around me and chuckle, boots are worn, knee is shot But this old thermos keeps my cup a Joe real hot Chorus That tough ole thermos rides shotgun with me Seen every sunrise a man can see Ain't much to look at but it's still holdin' strong Like the hands that've carried it all along Couple dents and a handle that's loose Kinda like me, gets the job done, with No excuse! Bridge That thermos and me, we got a lot in common. Regardless of the day, or shape I’m in We are both up and ready to work again Verse 3 A few years ago my thermos got a new logo, Granddaughter fixed it up, Pretty fancy, guys are jealous, it was a barbie sticker, on the cup Thinking of getting something newer and maybe high tech My son the plumber loves this old thermos, why not pass it on, what the heck? Final Chorus That tough ole thermos rides shotgun with me Seen every sunrise a man can see Ain't much to look at but it's still holdin' strong Like the hands that've carried it all along Couple dents and a handle that's loose Yep, Kinda like me, it gets the job done, with No excuse!
