[Verse 1] We could hear her old bones start to grown From the violent pounding of the growing waves We were working fast and hard to tie her down As that devil storm began to rage When a wise old sailor, out of nowhere came Lookin’ like he’d been at sea all his days He said, “Mates, lend an ear, that ain’t your play If you tie her down, she won’t see another day” [Chorus] You gotta sink your anchor deep in the water Sink it deep, sink it deep, sink it deep Don’t tie her down or the storm’ll break her apart Just sink your anchor deep [Verse 2] Thunder cracked so loud it made the whole earth shake We were faced with a life changing choice to make Do we listen to what the old sailor had to say To drop our anchor deep and see another day The old sailor spoke again in a voice calm and low “I’m the life, I’m the truth, the only way to go Don’t keep holdin’ on, you won’t make it through Don’t be afraid, listen to me, my word is true” [Chorus] You gotta sink your anchor deep in the water Sink it deep, sink it deep Let go of the past or it’ll drag you under Just sink your anchor deep [Bridge] There’s a rock that’s solid (Lead vocal) Never gonna move (Backup vocals) And Jesus is His name (Lead vocal) Yeah, that’s the truth (Backup vocals) Drop your anchor there (Lead vocal) He’ll hold you fast (Backup vocals) Winds may howl, waves crash and blast But He won’t let the current sweep you away (Lead vocal) [Chorus] So sink your anchor deep in Jesus Sink it deep, sink it deep He’ll keep you steady through the ragin’ water If you sink your anchor deep [Final Chorus] Yeah, sink your anchor deep in the Savior Sink it deep He’ll never leave you, never forsake you So sink your anchor deep [Outro] Sink your anchor deep Sink your anchor deep Sink your anchor deep….in Jesus [2-Beat Pause | No music] Mmmmm….in Jesus [End - Short Dobro guitar only ending]
