“A Cheerful Chronicle of a Dangerous Voyage” (Georgian: Argonavtebi) is a Soviet television musical film released in 1986, directed by Evgeny Ginzburg and featuring the vocal-instrumental ensemble Iveria. The musical itself, originally titled “Argonauts,” is based on the ancient Greek myth of Jason and the Argonauts and their legendary quest for the Golden Fleece.

One of the central musical themes of the film — the song “Argo” — became the signature piece of the ensemble Iveria. Composed by Alexander Basilaia, with lyrics by Yuri Ryashentsev, the song gained widespread recognition after first appearing in the 1982 stage musical version with lyrics by Jemal Baghashvili, marking the beginning of its journey toward lasting popularity.
