[Verse] I bought a field It's calling my name Gotta see it Walk it Stake my claim The dirt and grass Can't wait for me A banquet sounds nice But property's key [Chorus] Excuses Excuses rolling like a tide One then another They run and hide The table is set But they won't arrive Excuses Excuses never even tried [Verse 2] Five oxen Shiny and new They need a test drive Gotta see it through The wheels are turning The yoke is tight Your feast is tempting But not tonight [Prechorus] The servant stands His list in hand Shaking his head Can’t understand [Chorus] Excuses Excuses rolling like a tide One then another They run and hide The table is set But they won't arrive Excuses Excuses never even tried [Bridge] I just got married Can't you see My love is my priority The feast can wait The night is young This banquet's song won't be sung
